So I’ve had Goku since mid august. He’s about 5 1/2 months old. He was always fine with people coming in and out of the room and going up to his enclosure. But recently for the last month or so, he runs into his hide every time he sees somebody, unless he knows it’s time to eat. Some days he does better, but most of the time he will hide. I just don’t understand the drastic change in behavior. I feel like I have to tip toe around him and it’s hard since his enclosure is in my room.
I attached pictures of him and his enclosure below.
For temps:
Basking spot 101-107F (use a temp gun)
Hot side: 83-86F
Cool side: 71-76F
Stays around 69-72 at night
Your setup and temps all look good. If this has been recent behavior, my guess is that it's related to shedding. That looks like a pretty intense shed coming on and they can get especially skittish and irritable when they are shedding around their face. He looks nice and healthy based on the photo, so I'd be patient with him and see if his behavior calms down once he is done with the shed (this can take several weeks sometimes).

That’s what I initially thought, but he’s gone through about 3 sheds now since he started being skittish, and it doesn’t seem to get better or worse. Hoping maybe it’s just a prepuberty thing? It started when he hit about 4-4.5months old.
