I have a feeling my beardie is going to lay eggs. I can feel something in her tummy, small, round egg type somethings. She just pooped so I know it's not that. She had been acting strange, refusing to eat for about a week then eating everything in sight!
This would be her (and my) first clutch - what should I do to make her more comfortable? The eggs have not been fertilized so I'm not concerned about dealing with hatchlings just the comfort and well being of my beardie... tips? advice?
You could make a nest box. Make it at least 6-8" deep (maybe deeper?). You could use playsand and moisten it a little so as she digs it doesn't just keep filling the hole she digs.
She *could* just lay them somewhere in the tank as well. Make sure she is getting plenty of calcium as it takes a lot out of them.
Is there a decent substrate that I could use other then play sand? I live in a small town and I know that I can't get any here (I've looked in the past). What about the coconut husk or something?
She seems content, doesn't seem to be stressed but I don't want her to hold onto the eggs or anything that could harm her.
Thanks for the tips! I will put her calcium intake!
