My beardie wont eat when I take him out of his enclosure and feed him separately with his insects. He mainly eats in his enclosure. He also has not eaten in about a day and his appetite has decreased. It is winter here in NY so I don't know if that has anything to do with it. He also is not drinking unless I bring the water to him or wiggle my finger in the shallow dish. Fonzie is about 4 and a half months old, he is alert, shedding regularly has a sleep schedule and is comfortable with handling. He is also making regular bowel movements. I could be just paranoid maybe he is doing everything normally but behind my back. Please help.

Relocation stress will cause lack of appetite - please go over the surface basking temps and how your getting them and your UVB NO coils please - where is the UVB? We need to make sure this is all on par or he will continue to decline - try feeding him in his tank and if feeding crickets please keep count on how many are put in as they will hide and come out at night and you dont want that - they can bite the dragon and cause infections-

I get my temps from a circular thermometer with a needle. The tank is usually at about 80-100 degrees for 12 hours a day. The UVB doesn't have coils and it is next to the basking light. He likes the basking rock on top near the basking light for the heat. I don't know if he is getting the UVB and UVA he needs because he mainly goes where the heating light is. I feed him mainly super worms right now but they hide very quickly and when I am in the room he is focused on me. The veggies I am worried about cause he mainly goes after things that move. I have to make the water ripple for him to drink it or hold him and put his chin lightly into the water for him to drink. I feel like a bad beardie mom. I want him to be healthy and happy. I will say that his is still very social and alert and sleeps and poops regularly. He loves his baths. I would love for him to run around but Im worried he is too small and will get lost or stuck somewhere. Thank you for your help.

I need to know what brand and bulb your using for the UVB look on the bulb it will tell you -- the stick on thermometers are inaccurate and you need to get 2 digital probe thermometers you are getting only ambient temps -- in the hot side of the tank you want around 100 ambient - surface basking temps taken w/ the probe 105-110-- super worms are not a staple feeder - you want crickets - dubia roaches - I recommend those- BSFL great salads lures or silk worms -- please keep him in the tank for now -- you dont want to lose him and they are very quick -- I am posting a nutrition website ignore the kale info its outdated and a great staple feeder - posting websites for worms and insects - take the BSFL and drop on his salads in front of him first feeding use like 20-25 let him eat from that bowl if he eats those too fast they will come out undigested thats why I recommend only 20-25 at a time- then feed your crickets or dubias - I would set up a 10 gallon tank and get around 200 dubias w/ dubia food and water crystals - he should eat 20-25 crickets at one feeding or 10-15 dubias at one feeding - the BSFL will off set the appetite - are you dusting the super worms?

www.abdragons.com

you will need a bowl similar to this to keep the BSFL and small dubias in they are great salad bowls

Please tell me the UVB your using - if its in a dome its a coil

The UVB is not a coil, and the company is THRIVE My fiance is a electrician/ contractor he said it wasn't. The heating lamp that I have on for him for part of the day and during the night is a coil and 120v/23 w. The basking light is a dome and goes up to to 150v. He has flood lights that go to 250, but I think that those are way to high and bright. I'm gonna stop with the superworms and order him some roaches tomorrow. I have smaller mealworms to give him in the meantime. He just ate about 8 of them. So i think I can sleep tonight lol. I read somewhere that the superworms can cause a blockage in his gut if he is too small. What did you mean about the larva off setting his appetite? He's still young. What size roach should I get him? and can you recommend any toys.

Dragons do not play w/ toys- the mealworms will cause impaction as the exo skeleton is too harsh on babies stomachs- the thrive uvb is no good - please post a pic of the tank and his lights- we need to get your lighting on par - you want a long tube fixture- like a zoo med w/ a reptisun 10.0 T 5 or Arcadia pro T 5 12% 24 watt- or Sun blaster nano tech I can post links for all those fixtures- you need to go by chart on dubias roaches website do not get the insects bigger than the space between his eyes- please be getting your surface basking temps w/ a digital probe thermometer- they are the most accurate-- the bsfl will help fill him up that's what I meant about off set the appetite - are dusting any insects w/ calcium d 3 or vitamins w/ beta carotene

please post the links Im looking online for all of this stuff today. I will send pictures shortly. Fonzie is about 4 and a half months. Let me know if he looks healthy please. Today he ate five slices of zucchini, I cut them to look like worms, and a very little spinach for the first time. I have also noticed a difference in him getting curious about the water dish, he drank from it with my assistance I had to lead him to it. Thank you

this one you need to change the bulb out to the Reptisun 10.0 T 5 I will post a link
you need the 2 ft or 24" https://hydrobuilder.com/sunblaster...mp.html?opts=eyJhdHRyaWJ1dGU5MDEiOiI2NjEwIn0=
they are out of the Zoo Med fixture on this website I posted for the bulb so I will post a link so you can see what fixture you would need as well for this fixture it comes w/ the 5.0 but you want the 10.0
When you get the UVB please post back on here so I can help you get it set up for the tank - your screen will determine where it needs to go
Please no more spinach its a calcium binder - the squash is fine -- posting a website for nutrition ignore the kale info its out dated and a good staple feeder Nutrition Content

will the reptisun bulb fit in the sunblaster. I'm a bit confused. And I am wondering what are the best heating bulbs for daytime and nighttime?
Yes the Reptisun will fit the Sunblaster as well as a 22" Arcadia 12% 24 watt bulb- good basking bulbs are Flukers basking -- Exo Terra Intense they are spendy-- or Arcadia Halogen - you want a bright white clear basking bulb those are examples -- night time I recommend a Ceramic heat emitter you will need a dome w/ a ceramic socket -- temps in the tank should not drop below 65 ambient -

a poem by AHBD (THANK YOU SO MUCH! I LOVE IT!)

Sir Henry the dragon
Looking for his dragon girl
Ventures out in to the wide world
His hopes are up but as you can see
There is no dragon girl for Sir Henry
A light bulb goes off and he takes mom aside
Could you perchance get me a mail order bride ?

Hey! We’re the same age! That’s cool!
Hi there a little update we went from a 50 watt heat lamp to a 100 watt basking halogen heat lamp hahaha I saw some comments about it being so close so I made sure to put it a ruler away from her
Has anyone seen this before? Something in the corner of his mouth
