Beardie vs. Gecko

Hello all, I haven't been around here in forever. I sadly no longer have my beautiful Juno . My husband left me and I could not bring Juno along with me when I moved, so she had to be re-homed. I really miss Juno a lot and I think I may be ready to get a new reptile. I am not able to get a Beardie any time soon and I do not think that any Beardie would be able to replace Juno. So I was thinking what about a gecko.

Are there any gecko's somewhat similar to Beardies? What about Cresties? Are they anywhere near as great as Beardies? I can't wait to see what you guys have to say.

wel, I have two beardies and two cresties. I would have to say they can not compare. Beardies are alot more interactive and seem to build relationships with people.Don't get me wrong, i love my cresties but they're not as interactive as beardies are.


Crested geckos are much easier to care for though. If you're looking for a cheaper, easy to maintain option cresties would be the way to go.

My cresties are social and dont mind being held, but they're naturally jumpy and most dont grow out of this.
So all in all they aren't as laid back as beardies can be.

To me, i love all for of my reptiles. they each have their own personality but they can not be compared in my opinion they are completely different!

*sigh* I was hoping to find some type of lizard that would be somewhat like a Beardie. I miss my Beardie so much and the relationship we had. I would love to have that again. I think I may have to find someway to have a beardie again.

I love my cresteds but.. sad to say they can not compare to the attitude, affection, and personality of beardies. Hopefully one will find its way into your heart again one day.

Aww, I'm sorry you had to rehome Juno.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Rhacs, but they don't come close to beardies.

Still... get a gecko! True, they're not as lovable as beardies, but they're still really cute, and on the bright side, Rhacs are SO easy to care for! Personally, gargoyles are def. my favorites.
