my beardie has been not eating for the last few days..he will eat a cricket here and there or wax worms, but i cant get him to eat anything else. Could it be because the weather is starting to get cooler. He seems to be alert and okay but dont eat like he use to. any help i would appreciate it.
How old is your dragon?
What type & brand of UVB light are you using, a flourescent tube bulb, or a compact or coil light?
What are your temps in the tank, & how do you measure them?
The weather getting cooler does affect them, yes so double check the temps if you have a younger dragon, under 1 year, so he doesn't feel the need to brumate quite yet.
i have a regular heat bulb, he is upstairs in one of the bedrooms, im not sure what the temp is in his tank, but seems pretty warm, not hot though. i am thinking about moving him down in my room thru the winter. he eats some but not like he use to..he is about a yr old if not a little over.
Hello,
You need to have a way of accurately measuring the temps in the tank. If he is too hot or too cold, he wont eat or wont do as well as he should be doing.
I recommend getting either a digital probe or a temp gun to accurately measure the temps.
Are you using a UVB light, & if so, is it a flourescent tube bulb or a compact or coil light? How old is the light? Are you using a bright white basking light too?
