I got Malazan on 1/4/15. She is about 9 1/2 inches long. They said she was about 3 months old when we got her. I don't know how much she weighs because the scale I have doesn't go very high. We hope to get one eventually. She just doesn't seem to be eating much. When we first got her she would eat 10-15 small roaches for a while. In the last week or two it has declined quite a bit. She eats under 10 a day. Some of the days only 1 or 2. Yesterday she ate a 4. We mark how many she eats on the calendar. She only eats 1 or 2 pieces of vegetables a day if I hand feed them to her.
She poops almost daily. In the time we have owned her she probably only skipped 2 or 3 days.
When we got her she shed all of her body except for her tail.
She seems alert and active.
Could she just be a crappy eater?
Her basking spot is usually just under 110F and the temp gradiant doesn't go below 75 throughout her 4' x 2' enclosure. She basks most of the day and is out and about almost all of the time. She has a a basking light and a t5 UVB light. I have a CHE for night time so the enclosure doesn't go below 70F. I have a chilly apartment.
What could be affecting her appetite? All the posts and caresheets I read say that they eat 20-30 small roaches a day. I know the breeders fed her roaches.
Well it seems as if she was bored with her food. The breeder recommended I switch up her meals. I picked up some very small superworms from the pet store. She ate 5 yesterday and 8 today. Picky little bugger. Today I'll grab some calciworms and a few crickets so we can give her a variety. What a snot.
She better not hate roaches. I put together a whole breeding colony to save money.
Yes it did work out. Thanks! She is a year old and 16 inches long. And I believe she is in brumation. Hopefully not for long. I did get her tested for parasites in june so I know she went into it healthy. Just wasn't expecting her to do this so soon.
