i left for Christmas break and was gone for 3 weeks when i came back i noticed that my male dragon, Jager has something fishy on his tail doing some looking around i think it might be tail rot???
heres some pics
Hi,
I'm just going to take a few guesses here, but to me it doesn't look like tail rot...yet. It looks like it maybe a bit of retained shed or possibly an injury...is it possible he got his tail caught or was bitten by another beardie?
I'd give him a few baths to see if it comes "off". Has he shed recently?
Abi
ya hes living with a smaller female, my room mate was taking care of him and by the state of his terrarium wasn't doing a very good job. i'll give him a bath tonight see if i can loosen up the shed. see if it helps
ooohh thats bad. You should really separate them. Their fighting isnt going to stop. A male and female? What if the male decides that he wants to mate. If the female is too young it could cause some really bad health problems. Do you know how to care for fertile eggs? Bearded dragons should be house separately. Only in rare cases can people get them to live together without any injuries which usually involves 2 females.
really?!!! wow they have been living together for about 8 months now and this is the first incident she is about 2 years old and he is a little older they had one batch of eggs and i sold them to a pet store.
update: it seems that it was a shed that didn't quite make it off after a few warm baths and putting anti biotic cream on his tail today the shed was off still a bit on the tip but the majority of it came off i'm so happy that my Jager on the mend
