I just wanted to double-check that I have the correct lighting in my bearded dragon's tank because he has been on the cool side of the tank for three days and two days before that for four days.
I am using a Zoo Med Nocturanl Infrared Heat Lamp 150 watt (red light) on the basking side of his tank. The temp is 104 , read with a digital probe thermometer. THe cool side is 76. I have a ReptiSun 5.0 UVB. It just occurred to me that maybe the red lighting is not good for them. This is the bulb I was sold when I bought him. I sure hope it is okay.
I would definitely get rid of the red bulb. You don't need to neccessarily go out and buy a fancy basking bulb. You can use a bright white household bulb for heat.
You also might try getting the cool side temp up just a bit. Between 80-85 is ideal, especially with a baby.
Try that and see if it helps.
