It is okay that my beardie isn't eating after taking his meds this is his last dose and he is very alert and everything. And he ate like three roaches and two meal worms he is gaining back his appetite little by little. Also he is puffing his eyes to loosen skin and is very stressed about it. Is there anything I can do to help ?
How long has your dragon been on the meds & has he not eaten the entire time or just today?
You can bathe him to help with shedding relief. The bulging/puffing of the eyes are their way of stretching the skin to try & get it ready to shed off eventually.
You can give some chicken or turkey baby food mixed with sweet potato or squash baby food, to help supplement his eating, if he isn't interested in food right now. If he did eat something though, that is a good sign. The meds will destroy the appetite many times. You could also try a probiotic too for his appetite.
He has had two doses with a 48 hour period between each dose. And he ate yesterday but it wasn't much and just now he wouldn't even bug with the insects instead he wanted to run around and such. So I think it is a good sign that he is up and about and if this helps the medicine is ponazril. I am about to try the baby food and I will update you. And thanKS for answering.
Update: he seems to be dehydrated because after everytime I give him a bath he perks up and well 8s way more alert. And right now he is basking under his light and looks okay he does have some stress marks on him and is just sitting there. I did put him in his water bowl so he knows where to go if he gets dehydrated hopefully Percival understands that haha. But any advice would be ideal.
