My bearded dragon is almost six years old and a few months ago I noticed that he wasn’t moving around his cage like he use to. Recently he’s been falling off his basking log and I e found him in his cage laying on his back serval times. Also he seems to be dragging the back of his body when he walks. He eats fine and spends a lot of his time in his hammock. I’ve looked up some things online and it looks like with the balance issues and not using his back legs that it could be a nuro issue. Has anyone had any experience with these issues? Also should I change his cage set up to make it safer for him? I don’t want him hurting himself.
That's great you have the Reptisun 10 T5 tube now, he should really enjoy that. As Karrie suggested,
using a towel is a great idea & would be comfortable, too. How is he doing today?

He’s doing ok, not much has changed. I’m waiting for the light to come in. Should be here tomorrow. I did goto the store and got him a smaller water dish that is easier for him to get into. Also I got him a new basking area. Hopefully these things help him. This is him with his new setup. He’s exploring everything and I just feed him and gave him some calcium.
How cute he's having a picnic
I would recommend getting rid of the sand - and replacing it w/ some textured NON adhesive shelf liner - easy to clean w/ vinegar and water 50/50-- more sanitary found at Walmart or your local home improvement store-
Those are great pictures of him! There is nothing better than natural outdoor sunshine. It looks like
he is having a nice time, relaxing & having some snacks.
Keep us posted on his progress, we are all pulling for him.

Take the uvb and place on one end of the tank w/ the screen pulled towards the middle have the uvb sitting width wise on that end butt your screen up to the fixture so you have the basking light and uvb together - the distance should be 12-15 inches I would shoot for 12-13 directly above the basking decor -
Definitely place it horizontal on top of the screen if it is around 10 inches from him, or you can also
mount it directly overhead underneath of the screen also if it's at a safe distance.
I hope he likes his new basking area & UVB lighting!
