I came home from work today to see my dragon's toes looking a little wonky. I just got Goku on January of this year, and he is my first dragon. His toes look like he may have broken them (picture included). The red on his foot is just some of the buffet, which he always gets on his hands. We just say he's got cheeto fingers. He generally does not seem to be in much pain unless I touch the toes. He pulls them away and slaps them on the ground a couple of times. He then sets it back down like nothing happened. Should I be concerned, or are those toes normal he he just doesn't like them being touched? I'm still a bit new to Dragon Ownership, so I don't always know how to react.
Ouch, sorry that has happened! While those nice green mesh hammocks are nice, they un fortunately contribute to many injuries to beardies' toes & fingers.
I would remove the hammock though & find one that is a solid material which eliminates their claws getting caught.
For now, I would keep the area clean & use some antibiotic ointment on the toe. You could attempt to gently tape the toe to the next one. Place the sticky side up & use a thin piece of gauge so there isn't any stickiness to it. Or you could also try using a couple of short pieces of toothpick secured by gauge/tape on top & bottom of the finger to support it.
Let us know how he is doing.
