So when Clyde brumated last year it was roughly november-february/march and he would stay 100% under his covers in his hide. He would be fully sleeping almost always with his head down under his blanket. He is brumating again now (but it started in the late summer) and I’ve noticed him just awake with his head up in his hide sometimes with “sleepy eyes.”
Why the difference? Does it mean he’s almost done..? Which behavior is more normal/common?
Could this mean something is disturbing his brumation?
That's what Rocky did right before he came out!!! Please understand, Rocky wasn't down for as long (now what others considered a nap) but what happened next is he would look for hours, then he steps out and ate greens. He then resumed his normal activity. I didn't attempt to grab him during this time and besides speaking to him softly once to let him know that I was present, I let him do his thing. I did, however, keep to my routine so he could see me.
Hopefully by the time that you are reading this you have an update.
Rocky hasn't resumed "brumating" since. He is on me as I am typing to you
As this is a natural process, we have to let them go through this during their own time. SAYS THE PERSON WHO CRIED, SHUT THE WORLD OUT, PURCHASED BEARDIE T-SHIRTS LOL but now I'm okay. I just had to go through it.
Yeah i think it is normal, Zen has never gone into full brumation and he is going on four. He just gets even more lazy than normal (and that's saying something) and naps alot. He has never used his hide at all. If i stick him in it he bails out like the boogie man is in there.
