Hey guys I was told BSFL are great for them so I got a bunch and was also told they can eat them even when they become hard. Well I had some black tough ones and thought why waste them so I gave them to my Chubbs and I noticed she pooped the hard ones undigested. Is this a cause for concern? Was told the stage before they turn in to flies that they have the most calcium and are safe for them. She will bask roam around get nice and hot and eat them both in and out of her enclosure her body temp and enclosure isn't the problem. The lively ones crawling about she digested them easy but not the harder ones what should I do? My vet isn't open till tomorrow

No Need for a vet, bearded dragons tend to poop out whole bsfl. Not sure why but mine has done it a million times and also have been told by many others, so it’s not a rare occurrence. It may just be a coincidence that it just happen with the hard ones but I promise you there’s no reason for worry. Not sure if they eat them without chewing or what but I hope someone else will get on here and affirm what I’ve said so you are positive I know what I’m talking about. I promise you though it’s not a big deal. Yes you can feed in the pupate stage. (Black)

Thank you!!!!! I freaked out it has never happened before and I have fed them BSFL for a couple years now and I think you are right they don't chew. My Chubbs seems to catch and eat dozens in 1 bite in her case having a sticky tongue doesn't help 😅. Just thankful I got some peace of mind atm

No problem! I posted the same thing in a panic about a year ago and was amazed by how many people had similar experiences.

Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
