My bearded dragon, Jade, didn't want to wake up this morning. She normally sleeps against the glass or curled up around her rock. This morning she was hidden under her basking rock with her eyes closed. I turned off on her day light and turned off the night one. Normally every morning once she hears I'm awake and I turn on the day light she opens her eyes and looks at me. By the time I get my coffee and get back to her she's always on her rock. But, this time she was still under her rock with her eyes closed. I couldn't tell if she was breathing so I picked her up. Her eyes opened, but she felt cold and didn't use her claws to hold onto my hand like she normally does. She just sort of stayed like a statue. I put her on her basking rock and she didn't reposition herself. She's never acted like this before. I've had her almost 2 months, and she's about 4 or 5 months now. Is this normal? Or should I be concerned? I feel nervous about it, because I have to go to an emergency dentist appointment I set up on Friday and then I have to go to work. I'm willing to either cancel my appointment or go to work late if I should be concerned about her. Sorry for the long post! I just love Jade so much and want to make sure she's okay!
Thanks in advance!
Sometimes they are grumpy in the morning and don't want to get up. I've seen that a lot. Usually they wake up and move around after a while though. I'd keep an eye on her behavior. Look for continued lethargic behavior, dark black beard, or anything else unusual. If you can post some photos of her, that may also be helpful for determining her overall condition.
