my bearded dragon been in brumation for the last 4months and 2 days ago i thought it wanted to get up(eyes opening head up) so i turned on all the lights/heat.
first few minutes it got up, sunabaked for a few hours then at the end of the day it back to sleep under the newspaper.
now its been 2 days now and it still sleeping the whole day, should i turn off all the lights/heat again or should i wait a few more days?
im scared i will screw up its metablism if i continue to leave the stuff on while its sleeping.
I am sorry that no one has responded to your question, but I think it is because no one really has an exact answer. Sadly I do not have the answer either. I do not know a lot about the whole brumate thing. My guess would be that you should turn off his lights again if he is going back to sleep. He also maybe sleeping because he does not have enough energy to stay awake. I hope someone else post to your question, and helps you figure it out.
have you ever gone through the big questionnaire thing in the health forum about your set-up? If you havent, you should and post your answers here so we can see if there is something that can be contributing to this....
yea i remember reading that like 2 months ago, i should prob read it again....
right now its head is up, but its eyes are closed and its under a branch, dont think its the lighting because i used the same setup last year.
'Once your Bearded Dragon decides to come out of brumation, and remain awake, you may find that he’s restless and very grumpy, and just wants to be left alone for a few days. This is perfectly normal, and will pass in a relatively short period of time. He also may not have much of an appetite for a few days after he awakens. If he doesn’t want to eat, don’t force the issue. He will eat when he’s ready. This is also completely normal.
Another important thing to mention, is that when your Bearded Dragon fully awakens, you may see a lot of displaying, blackened beards, and head bobbing for a two to three week period, following their brumation. This too, is perfectly normal'
