Bearded dragon with broken clavicle?

I live in Las Vegas and I've been to 4 exotic vets all have done x-rays and most said he's old and has arthritis give him carprofen, one suggested, meloxicam after those didn't work and he was still Blackbearding and walking lopsided, one vet gave him prednisolone...

All these oral medications let to an upper respiratory infection and he nearly died, to top it all off they gave him oral medications to fix his UI which was counterproductive because he'd choke even if given the smallest amount at a time. I finally asked the vet to teach me how to give him injections and now after a few weeks of Fortaz injections he's doing much better.

I was frustrated that I couldn't get answers about why he's walking the way he was and always seemed like he was in pain, his blood work came back perfect his bone density looked amazing, his husbandry is completely on point, 100 on the hot side (105 now because of his infection) 80 on the cool side, he's in a 4x2x2 with a 36 inch t5 HO 10.0 bulb and I have a solarmeter to check the strength of the bulb and always try and keep him in the Ferguson zone. He has calcium with D3 3x a week and repashy vitamins weekly.

I looked over the x-rays by myself and noticed if I'm not mistaken, what looks to be 2 fractured clavicles... Is there any experienced bearded dragon vet here that can help? Are these fractures?

Have you tried Park animal hospital? I've had the best luck there. Aloha is supposed to have good doctors but I've never been able to get in there in a timely manner.
Avoid Lone Mountain I've been ripped off every time I've been there, and they literally let one of my beardies die, the @$%&! refused to even try to help her because it was end of day and she wanted to go home.

I called park and they said they couldn't do anything for a fractured clavicle, I went to Aloha with Dr. beckes, and she didn't notice the fracture and gave me the oral medications, Dr. Williams at flamingo pet clinic didn't notice the fracture and gave me the pain meds and steroids. Sunridge didn't notice the fractures.

Lone Mountain brings back such bad memories, I couldn't find anyone to take Mekoo in an emergency and Aloha recommended Lone Mountain, I took Mekoo there and they said they needed to do some test to see what was wrong, I even signed a waver saying whatever the cost just fix her, gave them a credit card with a 15k limit and, they came back and said she had aggressive stomach cancer and there was nothing they could do, they recommended I just put her down, and I did because I didn't want her to suffer, but I always question that day... It was also the end of the day and something I think they just didn't want to take on the operation.

I'm sorry to hear that. I wouldn't let those crooks look at my crickets let alone my pets ever again.
I took a ferret there, told them what I could afford and they used it to the penny almost and didn't even look at the problem i took her in for. I was forced there with Chomp because of the time of day and they literally refused to do anything. They wasn't even going to do an exam so I started raising holy hell on them, they took her into another room and came back in like 2 or 3 minutes and said there was nothing they could do. I have no doubt what so ever they didn't even look at her.
Im not sure who else in Vegas you could try.
Maybe ask around at LLL or Scales and Tails, they might know of a decent hospital.

Hello,

Wow, all of the vets missed the fractured clavicles? Do you have a video of him moving? If not, that is
ok, don't make him move much so he doesn't hurt himself more. I am not sure they are broken but they
appear to have hairline fractures or maybe dislocated.
Have you lowered his basking area, & adjusted his lighting, to the proper distance, so he doesn't have
to climb too much to bask right now?
Do you have any plain calcium to give to him, without any D3? Since his bones look good, he shouldn't
be deficient in calcium but perhaps you should increase his calcium intake for a few weeks or so just in
case.
Do you happen to have a copy of the blood work you could post? I am just interested in his calcium level
to be sure it is acceptable. How far is the Reptisun 10 T5 tube & is it unobstructed? That's great you are
using a solar meter to check the strength.
How is he doing on the Meloxicam? That should only be used short term, as it causes stomach distress
& or other health & side effects. You could try Serrapeptase for help with pain, swelling, etc for him.

Let us know how he is doing.

Tracie

Hey! I'm planning on ordering a 4x2x2 for my next beardie but I'm worried about lighting. I have a UVA and a UVB but they are small (the UVA just being a bulb and the UVB being 12 ish inches?) My house is drafty so I need a strong light that puts off quite a good amount of heat, any suggestions?
cookie event at my library today, quite fun! Made some bracelets for my comrades too, to give them at church in the morning. Got a busy day tomorrow even though I’m off work… i go back on tuesday so atleast I’ll have 2 days off to rewind….then back to hell lol
The head tilt tho! Aaaahhh
