My aunt rescued her bearded dragon, then had to give him to me. I've noticed he has an underbite? Does anyone know what might have happened? Is it treatable? he's 5, and from what I know he's had it since she got him (about a year ago).
I wish but it went let me give posted two images before (unrated to him) but now when I go to post a image it just gives me those twice. I don't know why.
Oh, and it's a calcium deficiency, inability to absorb enough calcium that causes an underbite or other bone deformities. MBD [ metabolic bone disease ]
Is it bad? I know I'm his first owner to give him calcium dusted insects. He hasn't had he best living conditions in the past, the woman my aunt got him from didn't even have a light for him, he had one bowl with nothing in it and a log and a rock. That's it. He has now had a huge upgrade, but nothing special, I'm working on it. So hopefully the calcium will help. Does it look bad?
It's not severe, although it is very noticeable it's not something that will greatly affect his quality of life. It sounds like you're taking good care of him + he'll probably be fine.
