Hi we’ve had our dragon for 3 years and he was eight when we got it. Yesterday I noticed the color on its back had become really pale and the neck frill was a dark brown, along with two patches near the front shoulder areas. It had been brumating for a week or so after we installed A/C and the kids forgot to turn the light on for a day here and there. Two days ago it came out of its burrow and limply basked on a rock, but was awake. Today I noticed the mouth was slightly open and the eyes are closed. I lifted it to check its breathing, and liquid drained from the open mouth. When I set it down in a comfortable spot it opened the mouth very wide almost like a yawn, and gulped. Since then there has been zero movement or responsiveness. We have an urgent visit scheduled for tomorrow with an exotics hospital but I fear it may be too late.
At 11 years old, he is on the upper end of life expectancy. The liquid from the mouth sounds like maybe a respotory infection though. At any rate you need to get him to the vet asap sound like. Keep him warm till you can get him to the vet.
Oh my, that doesn't sound very good, at all. Are you able to determine if he is breathing
right now? How do the eyes look, are they sunken in or not? Is his beard dark or normal
color?
It could be a respiratory infection possibly, or something else more severe. Let us know
how things go at the vets & if he is still with you.
