I recently got a new basking bulb because the one I had before was not hot enough. I'mjust using a 65 watt incandescent flood bulb, but my basking spot is only 90-95 at any given time. My thermostat on the hot side of my viv also only reads 80-85 at any given time. My beardie seems to be active enough, but i'm still worried about these temps, as I have been hearing for his age basking should be 105-110 F. The bulb is in a deep dome fixture, on top of the viv.
Yellow there!
i would suggest a bigger wattage bulb, i use for my dragons 150W. zoomed heat bulb. i am switching out to another bulb doe. it is called clear brite, it is still in the box, but the employee that works in the reptile store told me it works better then zoo med.
is the dome above the screen or below it. many beardie friends say to put the dome under the screen, cause it;s closer and they are getting more heat. same with UVB. i hope any of this helps )
