Basking position and hydration

Hi there, I am a first time bearded dragon keeper. Just wondering if the behaviour of my beardie not using the basking spot at 41-42c but sitting in the middle of the Viv instead in normal or is the basking spot too hot. See picture of where he sits

Also I am worried that I have not seen him drink any water, does he look dehydrated from. See picture of eyes and skin

Surface basking temps 105-110 F--taken w/ a digital probe thermometer- his poop.will tell you if he's dehydrated dragons don't usually drink out of bowls+ drop.water on his nose to see if he will lick- if the poop is dried out looking or white urate is crusty dried out looking he's dehydrated

Thank you so much KarrieRee, I use a digital gun type thermometer to see the temps, so must be all good on that front. The hygrometer is showing 30% constantly.

His poop is as it should be, it dried out or with any discolouration but he does not poop everyday, he skipped yesterday and done a big one today

I would invest in two digital probe thermometers - they are more accurate than your IR guns - they cannot read off of certain basking materials example hammocks --
