My am currently making a new stand to hold both my 5 foot tanks on top of each other ...
My question is does the basking light have to site on the top of the tank as that is where it is right now.
Or can I clamp it to the side of the tank and have the light (heat) come in through the glass that way?
I hope someone can help me with this then I will know what size of industrial shelving to buy
My tank dimensions are 48x24x20
Are these glass vivs or custom wooden ones? Are you planning on placing them directly on top of eachother? or with some space in between? I would be a little concerned about ventilation if you are stacking them. Plus its better to have the light coming from above as opposed from the side. I also dont thing putting the light on the outside of the glass will warm up the basking spot to the desired temp...

Thanks for getting back to me
They are Atasuki vivs glass vivs 48x24x20 I am going to make sure there is ventilation all the way around its a metal industrial rack that I am having made . But the basking lights will sit on the top now I just wanted another opinion if they could come in from the side but I was having reservations about doing that.
So thank you for answering it for me
