Can anyone tell me how long the ZooMed basking bulbs are suppose to last? Mine only seems to have a 3 week life span then it goes out. Its getting real expensive having to buy new bulbs all the time. Just wanting to know if anyone can give me pointers or a reason this may be happening or is it just normal?
I usually get a few months from them. I make sure that I have a fixture that is rated for the wattage 150w in my case. I also don't touch the bulb. I put a paper towel around it while I screw it in so the oil on my hand doesn't touch the glass. I also try not to move the fixture much if at all. They seem to be pretty sensitive if they're jostled.
