When my beardie is in his terrarium his legs move weird. They go up in the air and twitch. When out of his terrarium he moves fine. It kind of looks like his nails are getting caught in his repti carpet. But that may not be affecting him. Do I need to shorten his nails. If so how do I.
It is possible that is happening. You could put some tile in there it would act as an emery board when they run across it. If you can hold him in place while he's trying to walk on the tile it will file them down real quick. Personally I found the carpet hard to keep clean. You could use non adhesive shelf liner.
There is some carpet or felt that is really good, but some of the carpets have too large of loops in which your dragon's nails will get caught in.
The tile would be terrific for help with filing his nails. Another substrate would be non adhesive shelf liner too, it is easy to keep clean as well.
Is he able to walk normally & climb? He doesn't have any odd muscular twitches though, right?

That's great he hasn't had any strange twitching movements & he isn't having any problems with running or walking, either.
I am sure changing out the carpet will help out.
Let us know how he likes his new flooring.
