My baby beardie Custard spit up some kale today. He did the same thing last week. What should I do?
Substrate: newspaper
Tank: 10 gallon (he's only 2 1/2 months old)
Heat: 65 watt spotlight
UVB: Reptisun 10.0 tube
Furniture: Oak branches from my backyard
Protein: crickets (just fed 3 small superworms because he ate all his crickets today and no pet store was open)
Supplement: JurrasiCal on all protein
Veggies: kale, spaghetti squash, cactus pear, occcasionally strawberries
I hold him daily and give him baths every few days. I just traveled to another city two days ago, so could the throwing up be due to stress? Is a vet check up in order?
Could be stress. Could be from digestive trouble due to the super worms. Even the really tiny ones aren't recommended for dragons under 16 inches. I give Charlie a few micro supers (like 1/2 inch or smaller) every few days, but he is 12+ inches and never eats them two days in a row. Try adding greens with less texture like collards, dandelions and mustard and see how he takes those.

Okay. I actually gave the supers after he threw up. I had decided not to give supers anymore, but he was acting hungry. I'm getting him crickets tomorrow. I will not give any more supers, and I will try the other greens. Thanks for your help!
It is probably from stress and maybe from inconsistent temps during travel, like if he didn't have sufficient heat to digest after eating. Try my earlier suggestions, but it might also be worth investing in some bene bac to improve the good bacteria in his digestive system. Some pet stores carry it, but you can also order it online. http://www.amazon.com/Bene-Bac®-Bir...3E/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&qid=1322203411&sr=8-11

You're probably right about the insufficient heat to digest, because I put his greens in his carrier with him that day. It was probably 78 farenheit in my car, but not over 100 like in his enclosure.
I gave him arugula and parsley (my boyfriend's father had both fresh when we visited), and he loved it! He even had a sliver of arugula on the tip of his snout like a little moustache. I took pics of course
Thanks for the link! I'll look into that stuff. Anything to keep Custard healthy and happy.
Haha awww thanks! He is so cute. I also know why he was throwing up. Ever since his doctor diagnosed him with coccidia and worms, I'm sure that it wasn't the kale. His small intestines are just teaming with life, but I'm currently treating him for it with Albon and Panacur. He should be back to normal shortly
