Hey, I have a baby Beardie he is about an inch and a half to two inches long in the body. I just got him and I have never had a beardie so young. I'm currently feeding him dusted crickets and a bowl of greens he doesn't want to eat. Is it to early to try to give him treats such as bits of bananas? Or do you have other suggestions on what I can give him as a treat?
oh yeah, you can give them treats. My guys go crazy over strawberries and blackberries. I find if you can find 1 food that they like, it opens the door to get them to try other foods. I recommend offering a variety of foods from the beginning. I believe good eating habits start when they're young just like with children.
Just don't expect much at the beginning. They naturally crave more protein. But if you give it say first thing in the morning and leave it in all day. They'll get curious and try it eventually and start snacking on it throughout the day.
Thanks for all the great advice! I actually tried some banana today. So lets see if he is interested in it. He is starting to eat his greens so he might go for the banana too!! I hope he does. I will try to mix it up for him more no that I know it's ok for him so he can have a better diet.
