Baby Beardie Concerns

Hello! I posted over a week ago worried about our dragon Sparky. We’ve had him almost 3 weeks. The first week or so he didn’t eat, he went to the vet and did a round of antibiotics and has since been eating Dubias happily. He still doesn’t really want to try his greens and will occasionally eat a piece of butternut squash. He had also gotten a lot more active which was great.

Yesterday he had a couple of urates & no poop and then in the evening his stress marks began to get very dark and pronounced. Any thoughts? What can we do for him? He’s maybe 2 months and weighed 12g Thursday (up 3 from the week prior).

Also basking spot is around 108, yesterday I checked it and it was too hot so I turned off his heat lamp and it came back down.

Update: double checked basking temp and it’s 95. He also has a great appetite and is eager to eat his dubias

That's good but you want him eating some salads- we can go over that let's focus on the husbandry first- how are you getting your surface basking temps - stickons are inaccurate - uvb brand and bulb where is it placed?

Husbandry: He is in a 40 gallon tank (plan to move him to 4x2x2 in 6 months). Temps are: 91 warm (via probe thermometer), 80 cool (via probe thermometer), 102 basking (via temp gun). We have UVB mounted inside, Reptisun 24” T5 UVB 10. Substrate is paper towels. I’ll include a picture. He has his heat lamp and a heat bulb (we were struggling getting it warm enough) and his UVB is mounted inside but behind those

Ok it all sounds good but take your probe place on the brick basking decor get your surface basking temp w/ that IR guns are good but sometimes can be off especially on slate- to you don't need to leave it there- next please lower your uvb to 12- 15 inches directly above a piece of basking decor - he needs to be able to get directly under it-

Hey! I'm planning on ordering a 4x2x2 for my next beardie but I'm worried about lighting. I have a UVA and a UVB but they are small (the UVA just being a bulb and the UVB being 12 ish inches?) My house is drafty so I need a strong light that puts off quite a good amount of heat, any suggestions?
