My bearded dragon id say is approximately 4 months old, my friend has a beardie who she thinks is abt a year maybe more we introduced them to eachother and they were fine they spent lots of time together, we took them out and they were together all day later on we were outside my beardie was facing one way and hers was facing mine so it could see his whole body from the side i saw her looking at him weird do i went to grab him and bam her beardie grabbed my little guys face it was a quick bite but my little guy intstantly puffed up and then started like rolling as if unbalanced or like seizing i examined him it doesn’t look like she crushed his scull everything looked normal but there is almost like a bruise mark where she got him, he had a drop of blood on the site nothing serious and his one eye wont open and is swollen, im hoping it’s just swollen shut and will be fine in a few days, im thinking that could be partly why he seemed unbalanced bc he cant see out of that eye, he was alert and new i was there knew when i was talking and holding him, hes now home in his enclosure sleeping he was supper dark colored from stress and ik he is tired so im letting him sleep bc i tried getting ahold of so many vets and nobody wants to help and im not sure if theyd be able to do much but if he is gonna pass i just dont want him to suffer, pls dont shame me i already blame myself. any tips on what i can do for him at home to make him comfortable or if you know what could

Hello,

Great, the T5 Arcadia tube is an excellent UVB light. How is his eye looking today? I hope he is
improving for you & that he is able to keep his eye open more. Hopefully there wasn't any major
damage to his skull or head area.

he is still very sleepy, he wakes up and moves around but not very well, i believe he may have some spinal issues bc of the way hes kept himself and when he wakes up he still us rocking his head sometimes, hes drank water a few times, when should i offer some food i dont really know if he can see but i also dont want to exert him bc he is pretty weak

Hello,

Can he move around much at all, or is he unsteady on his feet right now? Is he alert when you are
around, & interested in his surroundings?
You can definitely go ahead & try giving some babyfood to see if you can get him to eat something.
Just drop the food onto the end of his nose to see if he will lick the food off of his nose. Hopefully he
going to start improving soon. Please keep us posted on him.

he can move but seems unstable on his feet his spine is in a curved position now but ik he has feeling in all limbs when i talk to him he opens his eye and i dropped water on his nose and he licked it i like the baby food idea but is that good for them? today he actually woke ip when i said his name and sat up and looked at me for a minute while i talked to him i then dropped water on his nose and he drank it this was the longest he’s stayed awake feels like a good sign

Hello,

That is wonderful news, hopefully he will begin to improve more daily. If he is keeping his eyes open
more & staying alert that is definitely a great sign.
Yes, you can mix up some chicken or turkey baby food, mixed with sweet potato & or squash baby food
for him. Be sure it is thin enough so that you can use a dropper or syringe to drip it onto his nose.

Keep us posted on him!

they can be surprisingly resilient.

he’s doing really well! hes been eating baby food and he finally pooped. only thing im worried abt now is his back being curved but i feel like more rest and eventually he could grow out of it and his head swaying he does after doing alot of movement or if ges stressed

That's good news! IMHO the head and back problems won't go away without Veterinary help. Could be neurological 🫤 However, you're doing a great job with him! I can tell you love him a lot!

Hello,

That is great news he has improved so much. Hopefully any neurological side effects will get less
noticeable in time as he gets stronger.
Are you getting adequate calcium into him & using a good UVB light?
I am glad he made it through that ordeal!

Your UVB is going to help w/ the curved back -- what are you using? Coil or long tube fixture? Coils are no good -- if you need help please ask we can get you set up for him

Hey! I'm planning on ordering a 4x2x2 for my next beardie but I'm worried about lighting. I have a UVA and a UVB but they are small (the UVA just being a bulb and the UVB being 12 ish inches?) My house is drafty so I need a strong light that puts off quite a good amount of heat, any suggestions?
cookie event at my library today, quite fun! Made some bracelets for my comrades too, to give them at church in the morning. Got a busy day tomorrow even though I’m off work… i go back on tuesday so atleast I’ll have 2 days off to rewind….then back to hell lol
The head tilt tho! Aaaahhh
