I bought my son a baby beardie one week ago today. Throughout the week ive been very pleased with his appetite. 3/25 - 40 small crickets 3/26 - 43 crickets 3/27 - 40 crickets
3/28 - 40 crickets 3/29 - 33 crickets 3/30 11 crickets and 20 really small Phoenix worms.
Initially he was eating crickets and his greens as well. The temps in the tank is spot on in the basking area at 105. I have a t5ho bulb for him. Hes already had a full shed in the tank. Hes had 2 baths with a little pedialyte in the distilled water. Im trying to wean him from crickets to pheonix worms and dubias but even his appetite for crickets has decreased. He weighs 24 grams. Gained 2 grams over the last week. Hes pooped every day. It looks good. Ive just expected him to continue eating a big volume of food for the forseeable future. If anymore info is needed lmk
That all sounds good and his tank looks fantastic. I really like the big branch you have in there. I wouldn't bother with the baths unless he likes them, especially not with Pedialyte. That stuff isn't cheap - warm tap water is fine =). It sounds like he is doing well. Expect fluctuations in his appetite, especially around sheds. Just keep offering bugs on his regular schedule and let him take what he wants. Keep recording his weight so you can see how that is trending over time (should be steady increase at this age).
