Baby bearded dragon not moving much, not eating.

Hi everyone.

We've had our baby bearded dragon for about a month now. A few days ago he stopped eating, and stopped moving much. He is having trouble walking and when he does move, he kinda drags himself with front and back legs, doesn't support himself up and run around .

I switched from a coil uvb to an arcadia t5 pro about 6 days ago. I had it on the screen, but now I mounted it inside the tank.

He has a basking light and basking spot is around 107. Cool side about 80. Taking temps with a digital probe type thermometer.

Tank is a 20 long.

I've been syringe feeding him repashy grub pie with some calcium powder mixed in. And daily soaks in warm water.

When he was eating on his own he had calcium dusted crickets and mixed greens, but he won't eat on his own at all anymore.

Is there anything else we can do? Couldn't get a vet appointment till next week.

So they gave an antibiotic w/ out finding out if there was an actual infection? I suggest getting the oxbow critical care omnivore - found on Amazon - it's often given for dragons not eating - especially when they are sick - I am flagging post to Tracie

She said it looked like there was an infection in his mouth. She didn't offer any further testing except for me to drop off a fecal , which I will.

Ok good- this stuff is good but it's thick so you will need to water it down - how is he eating the repashy?

I'm suringe feeding it. He won't eat on his own. He will lick of his lips sometimes though.

She said to feed .5 mls, only every other day. Does that sound right?

The oxbow or the repashy? And I would say no feed 3 times a day .5mls- go slow water it down especially in a syringe your gonna haft to cut / snip the end of it so it's a wider hole- just go slow let him swallow what you put in before giving more you don't want him to aspirate - watch his poops they will tell you if he's dehydrated - they should be dark formed and moist- the urate white formed and moist- any chalky or dried out looking he's dehydrated

I don't. Enclosure stays around 70 at night, is that too cold?

With him not being well get a che or get a heating pad place in tank put a dish towel etc over it -set it on low--- see if you can get the ambient temps to around 80

We do have a heating pad we're not using so I'll try that.

Be careful with the heating pad, some get really hot and breadies won't always move off them. I buy the cheap 20 dollar ones from Family Dollar. They don't get all that hot (as long as you don't fold them onto their selves) and they don't shut off automatically so you don't have to keep turning them back on.

The one we have us a zoomed under tank heating mat. I do worry about him overheating though because he isn't really moving very much at all.

I would probably put a probe on it and let it come up to full temp and see how hot it reached, then calculate in a few extra degrees because it will be warmer where your beardie is laying, just to be safe. You can always do like Karrieree said and put a towel on top to cool it a bit.
