Awkward Sleeping Positions

Hey, everyone. I just had the lights go out and the night light go on and i went to check on my baby bearded dragon i brought home 4 days ago named Pandora.

I get in there and she is sleeping standing up with her belly and head fully resting on the vertical glass... is this ok? are any random positions normal?

Haha, alrighty thanks for your post! I have read that they do this, but everyones definition of 'awkward' is different and this simply surprised me.

i am definitely getting a picture of this one!

Mine does that too....ignores the hiding spot. He'll be scratching on the glass, lights go out and he goes right to sleep. The first night he had his front legs stretched out like he was trying to catch something!

Angus did that as well when we first got him. He'd fall asleep holding onto his hammock but in an upright position against the glass! Latest was where his hip/ass was on the top ledge and body was on step down. Hurt my back just looking at him so I moved him (after wrapping him in his blankie) :)

Gizzard does that too. I thought it was strange when he first did it. I thought maybe the glass felt good because it was cool lol :)

Gobi does the awkard thing too. He stands on his log with his chest/belly against he glass and on one back foot. He then spreads his front arms out like a cross. very cute. They really sleep in some weird positions and places. Bisti sleeps on the edge of his "pool".

but he will wrap his tiny arms around my pointer perferably but he will accept the thumb and strech his back legs as far as they go it is so cute and i hope he wont out grow falling asleep in my arms <3

Me and my bf always check on Vash before we go to bed just to see what kind of ridiculous sleeping position he's gotten himself into... The past couple nights he has slept with his body flat on the bottom but his chin resting on the side of the glass, his nose pointing straight up. His sleeping positions make my spine hurt just thinking about it.

I heard BDs are slightly arboreal (living in trees) and they fall asleep vertically in the wild...so it makes some sense why our bearded buddies try to sleep at spine-bending 90 degree angles. :D

in the few weeks i've had falkor, i've found him in several crazy sleeping positions. one night, most of his body was stretched out on his thermometer cord with his little front paws wrapped around it. it was like he was dreaming of being a tightrope walker. another night, i found him like this:

made me think he just got home from a wild party ;-)

LOL! My beardie falls asleep like that too, like she just got back from a wild bash. :p For a while she was sleeping with her upper arms wrapped around her little faux circular cactus, her back legs on her log, and her belly hanging in between. They're such goobers!
