Hey guys, so I just got off the phone with my vet and found out my poor baby girl is Atadenovirus positive. She is 10 months old, and struggles with parasites. We are currently treating them. Just a quick question to all beardie owners, any of you have a positive beardie? Just wondering how yours is doing and if you have any tips. Would love to hear some success stories...
thank you!
Hi there....I'm so sorry about your little girl. Some dragons do live with it though. You might put this thread in the beardie tales forum....I'm pretty sure that there are posters on here that have ADV positive dragons. Best wishes to you + your little girl !
Which parasite trouble is she having, coccidia or pinworms?
Are you giving anything for immune system support? You can try bee pollen to help with immune system boosting & colloidal silver, too.
I am working on trying to find a cure as well as helping with finding ways to support the health & well being of them too.
She is having problems with coccidia and one other I don't remember. This is the second round of treatment, we eliminated the pinworms on the first round. The vet says she has a very small colony of each and this treatment should get rid of them for good. She seems to be taking well to these medications as she is becoming more and more active everyday.
The vet has prescribed her something for being ADV positive but I have not picked it up yet, but I believe it is to help her liver function.
I have heard of bee pollen, and colloidal silver but I am just wondering how it is administered and where I get it. She already doesn't like getting her parasite medications orally.
It can be hard to get meds into them. I am glad to hear you are getting her all cleared out & that the meds seem to be working.
The bee pollen is a powder so it can be sprinkled on the food, salad, etc daily or a few times per week. The colloidal silver can be given daily or several times a week as a immune system booster too, using a dropper.
