I dont think this is something to worry about, i mean hopefully not.
But my beardie just shed half his beard, and when he was done removing it by himself, throughout the day that particular area was darker than the rest of his beard (and body).
Is this normal?
it was darker earlier, and just when i grabbed him and took him out of his tank it lighten up a little bit like in the picture. But it was way darker :?:
Sometimes their skin can stay a little darker after they shed, for a day or two. Are you sure he
wasn't just aggravated at shedding making him a little grouchy? LOL

Thanks for the reply!
I'm not really sure if he was aggravated/grouchy, making his beard darker (half his beard). Hopefully its just a day or two like you said.
What im really hoping is that he didn't pull off the skin too early and damaged his scales or something like that . We'll see how he looks in the next day or two...
This is him this morning. Still with has his beard dark
He is going into brumation again, since his eating has decreased and he is staying in his hide all day. He has been on and off brumating for the last two months.
Yep he is officially brumating again now, he stayed up only for an hour or so in the morning and went straight back to sleep. What should I do about his half dark beard? Is he fine sleeping a couple weeks with that small area of his beard dark like that? Or maybe keep him up until it returns to normal?
