I recently moved into a new house. My bedroom is in a nice finished attic. I currently have my beardie in another room downstairs as I paint and prep my room upstairs. Unfortunately I have noticed a few to many spiders for my liking up there (I am terrified of spiders). I bought this spray that is suppose to kill them and had planned on spraying it around windows and doors and in the crawlspaces. I know this cant be good for a reptile. Does anyone know how long I should wait to move him into the room after spraying this stuff? I bought Terro spider killer spray.
Its times like these I wish I lived in Florida and could just have a bunch of wild lizards in my house to eat the spiders...of course they prob have some pretty large spiders there so maybe not
I am terrified of spiders so I understand. Insecticide is pretty nasty stuff for anyone. I'd consider that your dragon is relatively small so it's likely to be problematic for longer than it is for you. If you're using it near the tank I'd give it at least a day or two in a well ventilated house before moving him back into the room. Better to be safe than sorry with nasty chemicals.
Do you let him out of the enclosure in the room? I would be worried about him licking the area where you spray. My beardie tastes everything when he is out and about.
Yes I do let him out to crawl around but would only be spraying the windows, door frames and in the crawl spaces (which he wouldnt be going in). So he woudlnt be coming into direct contact with it but wonder how long it remains in the air after spraying. I know their lungs are much more sensitive then mammals' are.
