Ive had my beardie for a little over 2 years now and all of a sudden she will no longer eat crickets. She just looks at me and wont eat them.
Lately all shes wanted are horn worms and i know those are far from everything she needs. Ive tried almost every protein feeder i can think of and she just looks at me like i just tried to feed her our equivalent of black burnt toast. She wont eat phoenix worms, live meal worms, super worms, or crickets anymore. I cant really get her to eat much on the side of greens either. Is this normal, and should i keep trying or find something else?
My mom is dead set again the roaches in the house so dubias are out. Shes healthy, poops when she actually decides to eat, and is very mobile when i take her out of her viv. Any suggestions or advice?
If she's maintaining her weight and is alert and otherwise healthy, I'd just try to wait her out. Keep offering salads with different items in it every day and try the rotation of bugs every few days until she shows interest again. Is she acting lethargic or hiding? It's possible she's slowing down for brumation. If that's the case her weight should remain relatively stable so keep an eye on that.
She likes to be in the shade more often than not. But this has been a usual habit even when she is eating. Her weigh is stable, and she loves to be picked up and held, but even yesterday i put a bunch of dusted crickets in the cage, and she still today hasnt touched them. I thought maybe if i left them in there, she would eat at her leisure but she hasnt touched them. But she gobbled up the small goliaths i put in there this morning.
I think shes just being stubborn but i just wanted to make sure.
