I haven't posted about Apricot specifically in a little bit so I thought I would give a quick update. (Yes I know my post aren't ever quick
)
She has very quickly become a huge presence in our family. Her personality is starting to show through now that she is feeling a little better. She is very needy. She can climb some now and LOVES looking out the window. Most days when I come home she is up on her stump basking and watching out the window. As soon as she sees me she flys off the stump and trys to get my attention. When I put her back she turns on the water works and trys to guilt me. (She is a master pouter 100%)
I don't hand feed her in the mornings now. I offer a variety of feeders and greens. Some days she eats, some days she doesn't. I do still do hand feeding in the evening (I'm very conscious of her calcium intake and it guarantees I get some in her) I take her out on the sun every evening also (again making sure she absords the calcium)
She very much enjoys being outside. (She spotted the dang moon 3 days ago and it spooked the crap out if her for some reason
lil weirdo lol)
She poops every 2 to 3 days, they are looking better consistently and don't stink anything like they did in the beginning. I assume her immune system is now working to balance her system back out.
She does have a weird thing she does with her head. It isn't a tremble but I don't know what to call it. Sometimes she does 3 or 4 quick jerks with it. I'm not convinced it's mbd related. For a while I thought she was going to have really bad mbd. Her spine seemed to be drawing baddly, but it has since cleared up. She likes to sit in strange positions but she can straighten out when she wants to. I'm still continuing to treat her as if she does have it just in case.
She now seems happy most of the time. When we first brought her home she seemed (understandably) depressed. Not now, she always wants to be involved with whatever we are doing and just looks happy in general.
She's still looks really poor but she is improving. I've started letting her explore just a little to start rebuilding muscle strength and tone. She is stronger than she looks and is surprisingly fast for her condition.
Her color has improved considerably as well. When she is fired up she is a very bright lemon yellow.
All in all I truly believe she is going to recover.
She does have a spot on her head I'm concerned about. I'm not sure if it is a couple blackened scales or something else. I'm going to start treating it with honey this evening just in case.
I'm going to attach a few pictures from the last couple days, including her being lazy with me on the patio this evening
