I bought Kimba at PetSmart over Memorial day weekend. When he was sleeping last night I measured him from tail to nose. He's 10 1/2" to 11" long. I don't know how long he was at Petsmart, though he was really tiny. He's shed quite a few times. I'm just wondering if this seems like an okay length for a dragon of his approximate age.
I only have my one dragon for reference but it seems a little small. Dash was born June 11th, making him just under 3 months old, and he's already over 11 inches end to end. What does Kimba weigh? Dash was 73 grams last Saturday. Based on history, he'll probably be 80+ this coming weekend.
Thanks. I'd wondered if he was a little small, too. He gets all the veggies he can eat. He does like collard greens. And he gets all the crix he can eat. I gut load and dust them with repitcal at every feeding. He's a chunky little beardie.
It varies from dragon to dragon. Its determined by various factors like Genetics / husbandry BEFORE you got them etc..... Just like with people. You get the tall ones. skinny ones, short ones and FAT ones.
Mine is a year old and 19.5 inches. Like Saddlepatch stated, midget . . . NAH, just not a BIG type. Health to me is more important than size.

Yes, though I suspect that his petite-ness may be the result of the fact that he was verrry sick when I got him as a juvie (he had pinworms, coccidia, giardia, anorexia, and impaction - pretty much the works). So yeah, all those illnesses probably stunted his growth. But he's okay now. Just... tiny. hehe

Geeeeez, sounds almost like mne. Im just lucky that she perked up and CAUGHT up.
When I got her she was 10 inches, 7 MONTHS old and weighed 71 gramms. She was malnourished, dehydrated and had worms , parasites and a bacterial infection. She was also mistreated and really just SAD LOOKING, kinda like a stick insect
