My beardie lays in certain positions that its almost impossible for me to pick her up when i have to. Ever since she was a baby I've always scooped her up with a wide spatula, but she's a whole lot bigger now even that doesn't work sometimes. She wiggles around and moves her arms around a lot when i pick her up with it, I think she feels off balanced. I don't have a problem picking her up with my hand when shes standing up, but when she's laying completely flat with her head down I feel awkward trying to get my hand underneath her. Any tips or tricks?
I just wiggle my fingers underneath them until I can get a good hold. They will get used to this if they aren't already. Doesn't seem to bother them at all
Sometimes I will also use their chest to help lift the rest of the body up high enough to get my fingers under the body, since usually at least the head is lifted off the ground.
Some dragons do like to feel fully supported though. Others don't mind hanging on by a thread it seems. It's all dragon-preference.
