Im looking for any recommended BD breeders so I can purchase a Orange/Red juvenile from my kids? Any recommendations would be great so I can look at their website. If they are in North Texas then all the better.
Another question about purchasing a male vs female BD? Are there pros and cons on getting a female over a male or vice versa? The only thing I have seen so far is that females get "bigger" and lay infertile eggs but I havent heard anything about males.
My primary concerns are which sex has the brighter colors or is that going to be an either or?
Hi there, there are quite a few good dragon breeders out there. One of the best is Tammy from Draggintails for great quality, big healthy babies and super colors. if you don't want to have one shipped though you might try the upcoming Repticon show. [ Google Repticon TX. to see the show date ] There should be at least one dragon breeder , maybe Sizzlin dragons if I remember correctly. Google the show coming up + then look sat the vendor list to contact any dragon breeders.
Males + females can both grow large, females may get a fatter belly as they get older but males may be slightly larger [ but not always ] on average. Temperament of males can be mellow but during hormonal/breeding season they can get a bit more wild. Females may cycle + lay infertile eggs, most have no problem but once in a while can become eggbound. I've owned both , male + female both can make great pets. Either sex can be very bright depending on genetics.

I have intentions of going to Repticon in Dallas on Jan12/13 to look but I was mainly looking at options. Since Im not aware of breeder reputation, I wanted to grab others that may have more experience/knowledge so I can look at and follow their recommendation.
Thank you for explain the male vs female context. My main goal is to have a "chilled out" type of dragon for the kids. Im also looking for one that doesnt have issues from the beginning like ADV or other small illnesses. So, taking your information, it sounds that a female is more relaxed than a male on average but of course understanding the temperament is a variable on each individual dragon.
