I have a little bit of an ant problem right now. I just noticed a few managed to find the dragon's salad bowls. I already keep the tank pretty clean, in fact I just cleaned everything the other day, and I clean up the little messes daily.
Can anyone recommend a safe repellent, and how harmful to my dragons are they? They're the little bitty tiny ones, I don't know what kind of ant.
Unfortunately, I'm having the same issues. Haven't found anything that is dragon safe yet, I just try my best to keep the ants out of the viv. Tis that time of the year when the six legged critters begin to invade.
I would be very cautious with spraying the ants with anything. If they get sprayed and then crawl in the viv they will bring whatever it is in with them and if your beardie eats any they will ingest the spray. Try to find where they get in and spray them with something that will kill them fast, making sure they die before they reach the viv.
I've heard things about apple cider vinegar and fruit flies, how they fly into it and end up drowning (Will be doing once I'm back from vacation, the fruit flies are invading my gecko tanks en mass). Worth a shot with the ants, maybe add a little sugar to it to entice them.
