I've been reading about everyone recommending tile for enclosures and am thinking about making the switch. Should the tiles have a sealant or could that possibly pose a problem?

I bought ceramic tile and did not grout or seal it. In one viv I have 1/2 tile & 1/2 non adhesive shelf liner. I love it. If they poop on one tile I just remove it and bleach it. So easy. With the shelf liner I have two strips so I can remove it and wash it too.

i managed to get hold of some slate tiles, they are dark grey so keep the heat nicly, but i didnt fix them in, just so i can take them out when i need to clean them properly!

Hope this helps

As long as there aren't noticable gaps between the tiles (for feces to seep into and for toenails to get caught in), you do not need to seal it.

I use tiles. They rock!

Hey! I'm planning on ordering a 4x2x2 for my next beardie but I'm worried about lighting. I have a UVA and a UVB but they are small (the UVA just being a bulb and the UVB being 12 ish inches?) My house is drafty so I need a strong light that puts off quite a good amount of heat, any suggestions?
