:) hello
So I'm keeping crickets again after a while without, and I didn't really want to buy commercial gutload this time. (Im open to! but just hadn't yet)

Since the Beardy needs the veg I was assuming I could feed the crickets veg.
I chose rooty options for ease of removal and replacing+moisture -carrot and green cabbage... now I'm doing more research and those ARE NOT the best for the actual dragon. I'm worried I could be causing a dangerous level of vitamin A to build. (Was not feeding the dragon these veg, just crickets)

We've had Tukka Tukka since the 4th and today I notice slight eye droop, I offer water twice a day an he's drank from drips off a napkin one day and just drops from fingers the others.
I'm terrified that the vitamin A could have already condensed in his body?
He hasn't had a muti vitamin yet, just calcium dusted crickets. But the crickets may be improperly gut loaded?

I read a post on here that almost seemed to say that vitamin A from food, wasn't the HUGE issue, that it's over-supplimentation that can cause the issues.?!

WHAT IF ANY veg should I gut load with? Or just get the gel?
How long to wait for these crickets to be safe if they arnt?

THANK YOU!

My worry is the slight eye droop, I'm just nervous with it been a youngin that I already messed up. A slight droop in the eyes can be a sign of "hypersomething something A" 😥 (specific to vitamin A)

Thank you I'll keep an eye on color. Yesterday he pooped after a bath (got him the am of the 4th an he hadnt pooped yet) it was large and more green than brown.

No need to worry about it. Carrots are a VERY common food item for crickets. Even if you add some shredded carrot to your dragons salad, you won't get near hypervitaminosis A.

Hi there a little update we went from a 50 watt heat lamp to a 100 watt basking halogen heat lamp hahaha I saw some comments about it being so close so I made sure to put it a ruler away from her
Has anyone seen this before? Something in the corner of his mouth
