My almost 2 year old bearded dragon,Peponi, refuses to eat his greens. for the past few weeks he has stopped eating his greens and I don't know why. At first I thought he was just tired of the type of collard greens, so I bought mustard greens and he wont eat those either. I tried to withhold worms for a couple of days and he'll just run through them and throw them all over the tank.
He's in a 40 gallon breeder with a basking spot of 95F and a cool side of 78F. He has a brand new reptisun 10.0 tube mounted in his tank. He eats superworms that are dusted with calcium 3 times a week and multivitamin once a week. I also bath him 3 times a week.
You could encourage him to eat the greens by putting some worms in with the salad, hand feeding it too him (Wiggling the piece in front of him to draw interest) Or coating a few pieces in calcium dust, he may see it more appetizing that way as I looks like his feeder insects.
Hmmm. Yes, sometimes you need a little creativity..has he ever had any issues eating his greens before lately? Keep offering it- just incase he does eat it. Hmm..you could calcium coat worms, calcium coat some of the salad and put them in together and perhaps he will grab the peices?
