I mean lol
That's interesting to see - yours has single spikes on the side? Mine has double spikes there, so each is up-and-down like on barb wire.
Has this something to do with Alex being a leatherback, I assume? I'm really interested, so this is not a rhetorical question.
(If you don't know what I mean, I can show a comparison photo.)

Slept in her burrow.
Looks just like mine sleeps :) Curled up into a half circle, next/ behind a stone or wooden piece, tail usually hidden, and then feet dug in a bit. And then when the lights go on, pancaking in the cave for a while before coming out.

Here is, for comparison, the double row of spikes on the side Taco.
I had thought this is normal and then saw the photo from Alex.
As I only once had the chance to briefly interact with a leatherback dragon (and hadn't paid attention to that detail), I'm really wondering.

Leatherbacks have a huge reduction in spikes. Their sides and head as well. And the ones they do have are much much smaller.
All in all it makes them much more pleasant to handle.

I like the spiky feeling though lol
Also very much! Don't think he's overly / annoyingly scratchy, just would not put him under my shirt :D Not only to protect me, but also as these spikes catch on fabric. Thus I also don't use such as blankets for him.

(The scratchiest part were his nails when he was a bit younger, and not that active - so despite having plenty of access to stones and rough surfaces that would file his nails down, he was just not running so much - and not that used to how to hold onto a human, and how getting out and in of the enclosure works... Then I got a lot of scratches, some really deep. But now, an adult, he knows how this works and if I get scratches at all they are just on the surface of the skin.)

Hey! I'm planning on ordering a 4x2x2 for my next beardie but I'm worried about lighting. I have a UVA and a UVB but they are small (the UVA just being a bulb and the UVB being 12 ish inches?) My house is drafty so I need a strong light that puts off quite a good amount of heat, any suggestions?
cookie event at my library today, quite fun! Made some bracelets for my comrades too, to give them at church in the morning. Got a busy day tomorrow even though I’m off work… i go back on tuesday so atleast I’ll have 2 days off to rewind….then back to hell lol
The head tilt tho! Aaaahhh
