Alex going gravid?

Maybe she's trying to brumate ? At any rate she is very chunky and waxworms won't really be good for her. As beardie owners some equate always eating with good health or feel that they have to be eating or something's wrong but that's not the case.

Slept in her burrow. Took the top off to check on her. Just a sleeping girl. I'll let her be probably until Sunday. If she's still in I'll check on her then. Going to stop and grab some wax worms as treats and get some soldier fly larvae coming. Worse case I just toss em in the composter if they start to turn before she's hungry again. Might even try setting up a breeding tent just to see if I can at least trigger breeding. Kind of getting bored of breeding some of my fish. Learned a lot from livebearers but I want to focus more on goldfish, Bettas and live foods. More insects and stuff for Alex, more daphnia, scuds and detritus worms. I also want to start keeping other stuff like shrimp and large copepods. I'll probably keep my French blue Endlers and move some wild types in with the Cichlid, but I need new challenges.
But no dragons lol Maybe when White Hot dragons retires I'll convince my wife to let me step up the game lol
Awh she looks so tired

It's more of an if needed to stimulate appetite if she drops eggs. Most of them I'm going to try pupating just to have another colony of treats like I'm trying with mealworms. I like being prepared for things. Worse case the colonies explode and I mix them in when making fish food. I'd like to eventually get the roach colony and any future other things into the space under Alex enclosure.

Oh you're going to try to raise the waxworms ? I did that a long time ago and it was interesting......I did find loose moths in the house for a while after.
But hey, better than some loose 🪳🦗

Have a couple beetles. Just took out the old food and put in some carrot slices. Squirmy wormies get her attention and she'll grab those with a mouthful of greens or just greens in her excitement to grab them. Roaches she turns into a sniper and waits to make sure she doesn't get her greens lol

Haha, alex reminds me of a picky child who hates her vegetables and only wants the snacks 🤣🤣

Oh those are mealworms. Waxworms don't turn in to beetles, they turn in to moths.
Yeah, started that a month or so ago. Those should be easier lol But she likes wax worms more. Mealworms she's like "what is this? Superworms for ants?"

Speaking of breeding feeders, my scuds (mini freshwater shrimp basically) finally have babies :) Which reminds me I need more taro. It's been the most stable food source I have used.

Hanging out this morning. Tummy seems a little sensitive to touch. Kind of a shiver motion where you touch. Not like a pain reaction, almost more like a tickle response or maybe chill / cold.

She was glass surfing / hanging out at the glass. I was going to fill her cave back in, but she has been resting in there since digging it prior to surfing. Her vet is pretty busy right now and we're not worried. He's a friend too so we've been in touch and keeping him updated. I just need to kind of go back through pics and texts to get a rough timeline and figure about where she might be then maybe pull some strings lol
I think she's a bit over a month in. 10/23 is when I started a meal worm colony. Got them as a greens stimulant because she was being very picky / would only accept a couple bites like it was a treat. So I was suspicious around that time. That's also when she was surfing/ digging etc...
Edit: She just went back in her cave. Came out about 45 minutes before lights came on, crawled all the way out and basked for about an hour when they came on. She's digging/ rearranging a bit now.

Yup I bet she is leading into laying. With Ruby the first thing I always noticed was her appetite would fall off also.

Hey! I'm planning on ordering a 4x2x2 for my next beardie but I'm worried about lighting. I have a UVA and a UVB but they are small (the UVA just being a bulb and the UVB being 12 ish inches?) My house is drafty so I need a strong light that puts off quite a good amount of heat, any suggestions?
cookie event at my library today, quite fun! Made some bracelets for my comrades too, to give them at church in the morning. Got a busy day tomorrow even though I’m off work… i go back on tuesday so atleast I’ll have 2 days off to rewind….then back to hell lol
The head tilt tho! Aaaahhh
