Aggressive female

Hello all! I've been wanting to begin breeding bearded dragons, but I've been having issues with my female being VERY aggressive. Right now they are all in brumation, but I wanted to ask this before I woke them up for the new season. Is there any way to stop this behavior or is it just going to have to stay? He did mount her this year but she quickly put an end to that 😅.

Sorry to say but there's no way to change a lizard's temperament towards breeding. You can still introduce her in to the male's enclosure [ when they're out of brumation for a while ] but then it's up to her. She may accept it the next time around but nothing you can personally do other than put them in different places such as his tank, her tank, living room etc.

Females test the males, if he isn't dominant enough to dominate her she won't let him breed. It helps keeps the genetics strong. Survival of the fittest.

Not really....some females are just cranky, others aren't ready to breed. Some may not feel well, also other reasons.

I can’t wait to see Dr.Wilson be a big dragon but I try to cherish hard the moments while he still fits in my hand 🦎
It’s been a month since I’ve joined bd.org! It feels like it’s been longer than that, but I’m glad I’m here and apart of this lovely community!
I can feel her staring into my soul demanding food
She was having a staring contest with a mealworm. I guess I never taught her to not play with her food, lol.
