Hey all! I am trying to figure out the age of my beardie -
I picked him up on the 27th of November, 2010 -- (Saturday)
He is only 4 1/2 inches long and is still getting in the groove of eating all his crickets - this guy eats probably around 10-12 per day. (Poops once a day, active and normal behavior) And when he finishes eating what he wants, he is totally content with the crickets crawling on him. See picture.
He's probably not more than a month old, maybe a month and 1/2 if he's only 4.5 inches long. His diet sounds pretty normal to me, but you should take the crickets out of his enclosure as soon as he's done eating as they can bite him.
You could
a) try feeding him in a separate bin where you can just place him back in the viv when he's done eating, or
b) try dropping one tiny cricket in at a time
Just make sure your little guy stays hydrated and has proper lighting and heating and nutritional supplements, then he should grow up just fine. If you haven't found this website yet, http://www.beautifuldragons.503xtreme.com/ is a bible when it comes to nutrition and care. The site offers some really sound advice. Good luck!
