Hi ive got 2 bearded dragons( seperate vivs) the girl is just under 12 inches and the boy is 17 inches head to tail. What age does that mean they are as i wasnt told when i got them. Also how can i tell what type of beardie they are and would that make a diffrence when guessing the age. Thanks
Beardies vary in their rate of growth for a number of reasons but an average 10-11" dragon is possibly 3-4 months old at the most. A 17" can be a very small adult, but is more likely to be in the 6-8 month range.

Very pretty . I can only see the one that you're holding, the other pic in the tank is too far away.
So the one I can see is a normal phase beardie and is a pogona vitticeps. He mnay have some citrus in his line making him a shade of yellow which may brighten or fade or stay the same as he grows. Looks very healthy , too.
