Well...I have 3 beardies. 2 been together since we first got them! And we checked them out now they 2 males. And the 1 I have alone is a femaie we checked.
So we tried with the smaller mal putting him with her and he head bobbed and she waved. But she still went and bit him a few times on the tail. So we left it for a week or so! Then last nght we introuduced the bigger male to the female. She is a month younger than him. Probably 5 cm's smaller also. But since we introduced them she tried once or twice trying in the beginining to bite him. But then stopped. And now he just has a black beard and head bobs quite a lot and she waves a lot(which I'm told is submissing to him).
They eat together now and he sometimes head bobs. But she still waves to him. So I'm not sure if we should leave them or seperate them. Also the other male is alone now! And seems he is depressed! Just wanna mention that the reason we wanna seperate them is the 2 males were trying to dominate each other. So not sure if we should bring the males back together!
If the female is biting then she needs to be alone, forget about who is waving to who, she is aggressive and will eventually hurt which ever male she is housed with.
Your single male isn't depressed, the change just has him stressed some. You need to keep them all separate, especially the two males.
She bit the smaller male. But the bigger one she was unsure of and tried to test him., coz it is her tank. And after the initial meet, she doesn't try to bite him at all. But u suggest taking the male out the tank? Would I be able to get a male to mate with her once she older? Coz that's wat I'm stressing about, is when she is older she mite be so used to having no one, she will be even worse. So now that they seem to get along, isn't it better to have them together. Coz she knows her place with this male, but not the smaller one! Smaller one we also think he has mbd that's why he is smaller than the other male, coz we got the 2 males at the same time and were the same age! There could be a week maybe different in age!
You need to have all your bearded dragons in separate tanks, because biting can happen bitten tails missing fingers, toes, also with putting him in with her and thats her tank she is (lack of a better word) pissed off that is her space. Also she is too young they should be at least 1.5 years old before you even try to mate them.
I know this from experience I had my M/F together and it was not great now they are separated and when she is older I will mate them.
Bearded dragons like their own space they arent depressed at all.
Also you can't house two males together as they will fight especially with a female around even if she is in her own tank.
I know that a few people have had no problems having males together with males and so forth but from what I learnt from being on this site its not a good idea.
