Hi I'm currently planning to build a viv for my two beardies, it will be 48 inches long, 30 inches high and 20 inches wide.... it will be built out of MDF with glass or perspex doors at the front. I have several questions....
1. Do I need to seal the MDF and if so what can I use?
2. What substrate can i use, I'm currently using bark chippings, they like to bury themselves.
If you are planning on housing them together I would strongly suggest that you reconsider... Bearded dragons are solitary creatures and do not like to socialize with one another.. They may appear to at first but things can change in an instant and become dangerous and even deadly.. But to answer your questions.. yes you would need to seal the enclosure with some type of latex based caulk and as far as the substrate.. Loose substrate is very dangerous as it can cause impaction.. I would recommend non adhesive shelf liner , repti carpet or tile.. You can have it cut to fit your enclosure.. Hope this advice helps
