Advice needed. I'm going to try to rehab a hatchling that was bit by a dog.

So a while back I posted about a beardie I though was blind in one eye. He looked to be in rough shape. After talking with the folks at the shop they started trying to work with him some. All they were doing however was wiping at it with a wet paper towel.
This little guy is the bitiest beardie I've ever seen. I've been keeping tabs on him several times a week since I first saw him. He has bitten me more times already than every beardie I've had combined lol. And that was while he was still at the reptile shop lol. No one wanted him because of his eye and his disposition. I finally made Christina feel sorry enough for him to let me bring him home.
The agreement is to rehab his eye and work on taming him with the understanding he may be rehomed at that point. They also agreed to take him back at the shop at that point to.
(But lets be honest here, she won't have the heart to rehome him) 😉😉😉 she is already fawning all over him (from a safe distance lol)
Anyway I need advice on how to treat his eye 👁 I know I can use diluted honey 🍯 but what can I use the flush it that won't burn, sting, or irritate it? How often should I try to clean it out? Is there anything else I should be doing?
I can now see that his eye is still there. It looks like he might regain his vision even, but the tissue surrounding it looks concerning. I don't have great pictures yet (you try taking pictures of a wolverine, a Tasmanian devil and great white hybrid) I'll post the couple I have, if you zoom in you can see the tissue I'm concerned with. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

He looks pretty good overall. I'd imagine that his eye will start to clear up once he gets a healthy environment and routine going. It's a great sign that he's active and energetic. Not so much for your fingers maybe... Some saline may help rinse his eye out as needed, but as you mentioned it is likely to feel uncomfortable and they REALLY don't like having their eyes messed with. Good option if you need to clear some gunk out of the way though. When I brought Dundee home, he was pretty aggressive too, but after a while he settled down and was a really sweet dude once he got some care and started feeling a bit better. Even just having some proper lighting and a clean/comfortable environment seems to give them a lot of power to bounce back and heal with some time.

He seems happy in his new setup overall. I only see stress marks (and teeth) when I have to work with him. I have him in a window same as my others but I was afriad it might he stressful at first. He seemed to like it straight away. He spends most of the day peering outside. I your right, I think once he is on the mend and settles in he'll calm down. He only bites because he is afraid.

So I took Cactus Jack in to see the vet this morning 🌄 According to all accounts he was extremely sassy with them (I gave them fair warning 😉) but she said his eye was still attached in the front were the swelling is, and that it looked ok. She doesn't think he has a bacterial problem and that the tissue us just inflamed. She thinks he is capable of full recovery 🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂 She sent me home with once a day anti-inflammatory eye drops and syringes small enough to flush his eye.
She said she took a minute to check his nostrils also and there is no damage to them and they are clear.
She used my trick for the biting, she crammed bugs in his mouth. Apparently he ate 5 or 6 for her. Sassy indeed!!! lol 😆
She said over all he looks pretty good.
He actually came out of the carrier on his own when she brought him back, and even sat in her hand on the table while she went over everything with us. (I need to learn all her secrets 🙊)
He actually sat in my hand for like 15 minutes once we got home. PROGRESS!!! 😄 I'll call it a win 🏆 😉

I am very happy for him, this is great news about his eye! :D And I had no doubt that he would trust you very soon.
Thank you 😊
It was matted closed again this morning, but it think it's from the vet messing with it yesterday. I gently cleaned it with a warm damp towel and it opened back up. The eye drops didn't seem to sting or hurt, he had zero reactions to it. I'm hopeful the issue clears up for him.

Hello,

He looks very happy there, you are doing a great job! Hopefully his eye fully recovers for him. At
least he has a great chance now, with you.
Keep us posted on his progress!

The eye droppls seem to make it puff at at first then the swelling goes down.
I think when it does he can see because yesterday evening he was climbing up and down his decor a bunch. He still won't eat on his own though so I'm giving critical care every day.

I am in the same boat with Kam.
I used Manuka honey mixed with colloidal silver on his eye

I don't know if it's bacterial or if something got in his eye while I let him roam around.
I might have to take him to the vet.

Keep us posted

Sir Henry the dragon
Looking for his dragon girl
Ventures out in to the wide world
His hopes are up but as you can see
There is no dragon girl for Sir Henry
A light bulb goes off and he takes mom aside
Could you perchance get me a mail order bride ?

Hi there a little update we went from a 50 watt heat lamp to a 100 watt basking halogen heat lamp hahaha I saw some comments about it being so close so I made sure to put it a ruler away from her
Has anyone seen this before? Something in the corner of his mouth
